The Rydells formed in 2001, from preaviously
experiences with Torquemada (1998, Ramones addicted) and Hotel Mathaus (second half '90s, hardcore). Their influences
are like a blend of the powerful sounds of bands like Social Distortion, Ramones, Misfits and the energy of Elvis Presley,
Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and most of the rock'n'roll artists of the '50s and '60s; songs about girls, parties,
rock'n'roll, but also about unsatisfaction, boredom and fighting against the everyday life. During this years
they've played with bands like Misfits, Manges, Peawees, Groovie Ghoulies, Huntingtons, Bad Luck Charms, thee S.T.P.,
Hormonauts, Miles Apart, Forty Winks, Los Fastidios, Retarded and so on. In 2003 Be Nice To Mommy Records put out their
first release, "Borin' days & borin' nights..."; new ep "Loaded dice" - mixed by Herve'
from the Peawees - out in spring 2006 on San Martin Records. And in November 2008 Knowhere Records released "Vow
To Defend" the bands most inspiring songs to date. Filled with songs of desperation and love. Bluesy numbers
that put a beer in your hand. 2009 will find the Rydells forging ahead to new territory and continuing to fight the
good fight for the preservation of PURE PUNK ROCK!
